Andreas Preisler studied Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Applied Science in Hamburg from 2008 to 2013, specializing on Lightweight Design. As a student he received the Buchpreis des Förderkreises Wagenbauschule in 2012 and a scholarship of the Fritz Kirchberg Stiftung for his extraordinary achievements during his bachelor’s degree. Preisler’s career started in 2011 as a student employee at the Elan Ausy GmbH in the Computer Aided Engineering department. Two years later he started working as researcher at the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Lightweight Design being responsible for the research field Structural Health Monitoring . Mr. Preisler developed during his education and career a profound knowledge in the field linear and nonlinear numerical analyses using Finite Element Method. In his PhD thesis, he is deriving efficient structural damage indicators based on structural analyses. Regarding his work at the SLA, he is responsible for the scientific research field of Structural Health Monitoring. Until winter semester 2017/2018, he gave courses in Mechanik I und Mechanik II.
